This page will be an ongoing place for my writings

June 2009:

Greetings!  As I wake up to each gorgeous and blessed new day, I feel my connection to Deity growing stronger and stronger.  Did I make the right choice last week to sever ties with the Correllian Tradition?  My Inner Knowing and my Higher Self both echo a resounding "YES!"

What have I learned so far?

I have learned what peace can feel like.  The peace that comes after cutting the etheric ties to things that don't belong in your life.  The peace that comes when realising you no longer have to monitor your words and deeds because someone is always "watching".  And of course, the peace that comes when listening to  your Soul and your guides!

I have learned joy.  The joy of learning that those that care aren't just around you because they "signed up" or because you are their official "mentor".  The joy of reading the heartfelt words you have all posted or emailed me.  I am in awe of you and greatly humbled by it all.  I thank you from my heart.

And I have learned that "I Can".  I can be all that I am  meant to be.  I can be a guide and teacher just by being ME.  And of course I can learn so much as well from all of YOU.

Today is another brand new day - another chance given us to strike out on the Path we chose long before we were born.  I thank the All That Is, the Angels, the Guides, the Goddess and the God and all those ancestors and others who walk along assisting me to remember who I am.

And I thank each and every one of you for your love and trust in me.   You are all awesome!

Brightest Blessings in Love and Light and Namaste!

May 2009 -

Greetings!  As I sit here now at 4:15 am, many thoughts come to mind.  What does the future hold for each of us?  How is our health in the physical?  How is our health in the mental and spiritual?  These type of questions confront most of us daily.

As we are constantly evolving spiritually, we must be walking question marks.  Seek knowledge, but be sure to listen to your own "Inner Knowing" as to what resonates with you on your Path at this time.  Just because something has been said or printed does not make it your truth, as you all know.

I want to share with you something that happened to me in the last year.  It has to do with Angels.  I had a mental block when it came to Angels.  Yes, I had bought lovely statues of them and thought they were beautiful, but I also associated them with the "book" religions which put me off a bit.

In getting to know my dear friend, Annelies, I became interested to know more about them and bought the book "Angels 101" by Doreen Virtue.  I found it fascinating, firstly because she stressed that they are non-denominational.  As I read on, I found a passage that hit me - that the angels appear to some with wings since that is what they expect, but that they are really Light Beings!

The lightbulb went on!  I had worked in this lifetime with Light Beings all my life...DUH!

I have become engrossed in their study and find they will help with most anything, but they need to be asked.  Since we have free will, they cannot help us unless we ask them.

Annelies and Lien will be adding files on the angels as time goes on here in the group.  I hope they will be insightful and enjoyable to you on your Path.

Brightest Blessings in Love and Light,

 Mary

Older - This was written earlier this year, before I decided to leave the Correllian Nativist Tradition.  The thoughts still hold true, though.

Musings of a Mentor

By Rev. Mary Keller

Before I begin I would like to say “What is a mentor”?

According to Wikipedia:

The first recorded modern usage of the term can be traced to a book entitled "Les Aventures de Telemaque", by the French writer François Fénelon. In the book the lead character is that of Mentor. This book was published in 1699 and was very popular during the 18th century and the modern application of the term can be traced to this publication.

This is the source of the modern use of the word mentor: a trusted friend, counselor or teacher, usually a more experienced person. Some professions have "mentoring programs" in which newcomers are paired with more experienced people in order to obtain good examples and advice as they advance, and schools sometimes have mentoring programs for new students or students who are having difficulties.”

So, lets get started. I am a mentor of all three degrees of Correllian Wicca. I have students from all over the world and many different lifestyles and ages.

So, what does being a mentor mean to me? Well, I think the definition above covers most of it.

“Trusted friend” – My students are free to email, chat or call me at any time. I find it important to really know each of them. My students are all individuals and yet all are so dear to me. Not only do they all have something to learn from me, but I too learn from them! One may be a rune master, one may be a familial witch, one may be a housewife with new or age-old ideas on raising children – all have something to share.

“Counselor” – Maybe not a counselor in the sense of a qualified professional, but I am there for them. Are they feeling down? I give them a virtual hug and send healing energy and maybe tell them a funny story to make them laugh. Are they ill, or a loved one? I send Reiki and healing energy. Do they just need a “like mind” to talk to? I can be that.

“Teacher, usually a more experienced person” – That is one of the main reasons we are here, although in many areas, we may not be “more experienced”, in the realm of the lessons, we are. For me, I have a varied background of over 40 years of spiritual and esoteric study and experience and I have melded it all into a coherent Path. That Correllian Wicca is a big part of that and blends so well, has been a wonderful plus, but it has also come in handy. One of my Second Degree students did her project on Alchemy. I have a good basis in that area. Another compared Correllian Wicca to Rosicrucianism. I myself spent 17 years in that study.

I am not saying we all need to be experts in every possible field before mentoring. Of course not. But life experiences, learning and being open to all possibilites is very important to our mentoring – not just being able to grade a test or track the students progress.

I love teaching, mentoring, seeing my students reach their goals, a lesson at a time, the personal joy I feel with each graduate, each new clergy member! To me, giving of myself to maybe inspire another to the next phase of their spiritual evolution on their personal Path is a joy beyond words!

I hope you enjoyed this and next week, I will share a bit more of my thoughts with you.

Brightest Blessings in Love and Light,

Mary (Sekhmet Ravenwolf)
